Ans.66: O my daughter, as long as you are Muslim, then you celebrate the two ‘Eids, Fitr at the end of Ramadhaan and Adha during the month of Hajj, and you do not celebrate the seasonal celebrations that many Muslims have taken to except for the ones that Allaah has guided. So we understand that you intend the two ‘Eids of Ramadhaan and Hajj. So, I appeal to you and all the other sisters, especially those following the Sunnah, to be merciful to your husbands and not bring hardship upon them as per the Sharee’ah as a woman should be good towards her husband. I also encourage men to be easy and good towards their wives and their daughters, and make apparent to their wives and children what Allaah has blessed them with by spending on them as Allaah loves to see the effects of the wealth He has blessed you with on your families.

 

I advise you to behave well towards one another and with piety, to have strong bonds with each other and work together upon good. I advise sisters to be soft and gentle with their husbands and not bring hardship on them by requesting excessive gifts the likes of gold and jewellery and so on. Rather Allaah has made it obligatory upon you to bring ease on one another especially during the special times of Eids which should be times of pleasure and happiness. So whether the husband gives money to his wife so she may buy what is necessary, or that he goes along and buy the items with her or without her, this should be done if possible but what is important is that you bring ease to one another and pardon each other instead of burdening each other with requests beyond what they have because if someone leaves something for the Sake of Allaah then Allaah replaces it with that which is better for them.
